The holiday fun at Hutchinson Island started last week and for the rest of 2012 the Road Course at Savannah Harbor (a professional race track) will become an illuminated wonderland. Home to over 60 larger-than-life holiday-themed displays, this is a one of a kind, interactive holiday event. Many here in Savannah consider their holiday drive around the course a family tradition. While most visitors drive through, you can also walk-through, ride the trolley or take a romantic horse-and-carriage ride.
The light displays will be open Wednesdays through Sundays, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 6 – 9 p.m. $20 per car (which includes a $5 food and beverage voucher); $5 per person in commercial vehicles.
Other Happenings at the Harbor Festival of Lights
Visitors can park at the Pit and Paddock at the end of the drive-through and partake in a variety of family-friendly and festive activities. Snack on tasty treats, warm up by the bonfire with hot chocolate and a s’more. Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the holidays.
Special weekend entertainment is also scheduled and includes live scenes from A Christmas Carol, exotic animal shows, entertainment from Staples Safari and the second annual Alive in Savannah on New Year’s weekend. Proceeds of the Savanah Holiday Festival of Lights assist at-risk and disadvantaged youth, homeless and needy families.
