A Savannah Inn where Victorian Romance is Perfected
This 1888 Historic Savannah Inn offers 12 rooms, and a Carriage House within two blocks of historic Forsyth Park. Period antiques and furnishings abound in both the sleeping suites and in the common areas. By contemporary standards, some would say the lush and extravagant appointments are somewhat “over the top,” but by Romantic Victorian standards, they are “simply just perfect.” Staying at McMillan Inn is a wonderful way to experience an era gone by.
The Grounds & Pool
Verandas, porch swings, statuary and a pool await your visit.
The front of the McMillan Inn welcomes guests to an expansive veranda with porch swing and sitting area. Sit and enjoy the clip clop of carriage rides passing by. In the back yard, guests experience two outdoor living areas: a dipping pool and lounging area on one side, and a quiet outdoor living room on the other. Enjoy relaxing in our newly designed courtyard, complete with flower gardens, cherub fountain and dipping pool. The dipping pool is the perfect place to sit and sip your favorite beverage as you are cooling off from the heat of the day. Afterwards, sit around the gas fire pit with a glass of wine to discuss your next day’s adventures. Click on images to view them larger.
The Parlors
Two parlors are adorned in antique furnishings, artwork and decor. Baked treats are always nearby.
In the main Parlors you will find homemade goodies which you can enjoy in the afternoon along with a refreshing glass of peach tea. For the person with a sweet tooth you will look forward to arriving back at the Inn after strolling Savannah to savor a freshly made gourmet style chocolate chip cookie or gooey butter cake. This is a great time to run into other guests staying at the Inn and enjoy a conversation with new friends before heading off to dinner or evening entertainment. The Inn features two parlors, allowing guests plenty of space to find their own cozy chair to read in the corner, or to mingle with other guests.
The Dining Areas
Indoor and outdoor dining is available, or enjoy breakfast in your room.
Two stunning dining rooms filled with period antiques grace our Savannah Inn. In addition, there is an outdoor screened in dining area for guests that prefer to dine outside. Your stay also includes a full Southern Breakfast served each morning.
From our Guests:
Anniversary Delight We spent part of our 30th anniversary here. Where to start. Awesome artwork and decor. It seemed we were transported to the 19th century. Southern breakfast each day, homemade cookies and peach tea, all part of the deal. We stayed in the Huntingdon room. Comfy canopy bed, fireplace, seating area in the turret, clawfoot tub, beautifully furnished, took my wife’s breath away! Add to that very friendly and helpful staff, a front porch swing and backyard porches to wind down in after a day/night on the town, pool (small but nice), walking distance to just about anything you want to see in town, safe and quiet neighborhood, a true Southern gem! If we come back to Savannah, we’ll stay here, guaranteed!
Like royalty! This was the most beautiful bed & breakfast that my husband and I have ever stayed in! I really appreciated the attention to period detail– the furnishings, the artwork, the flooring. The dipping pool was such a refreshment after a hot day in Savannah. We felt like royalty but without the royal price!
