Enjoy Savannah’s First Friday & Saturday festivities from March through December. Located on historic River Street, you can see fireworks at the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza Friday nights.
Explore artist booths, entertainment and fun for the entire family on historic River Street. This beautiful outdoor venue attracts locals and tourists from all over the nation. The festivities run from 4 to 10 p.m., leaving you plenty of time to shop, dine, and delight in this historic landmark.
Shawndra Russell, a guest blogger on Visit Savannah, wrote a great blog about how to get the best out of your First Friday experience. Here are some highlights from her must-see list:
Start in the South of Forsyth (SoFo) District
Russell recommends starting your night in the SoFo district, which begins ten blocks south of our bed and breakfast and extends down to Victory Drive. See Arts-inspired events and eat up the quirky restaurants, shops and galleries.
Head to River Street for Fireworks and First Friday Oyster Roast
Take the ferry across the Savannah River, which departs every 20 minutes or so from River St. behind City Hall, a little more than a mile north of the inn. On the other side, The Westin Savannah has an oyster roast every Friday and a great view of the fireworks and riverfront. The show starts at 9:30 p.m.
