Fall is here and that means it’s time for one of the most fun holidays of the year: Halloween! Known as one of America’s most haunted cities, a Savannah Halloween sees a wide variety of events.

Savannah’s long and rich history includes countless ghost sightings and tales of the supernatural. In fact, you can enjoy a variety of haunted tours in Savannah all year ’round! The “Hostess City” also likes to throw a party, however, and Halloween offers the perfect opportunity.

2024 Savannah Halloween Events

No October visit to Savannah  is complete without a ghost tour. Whether by foot, trolley, or even hearse, these guided tours will take you through haunted mansions, eerie cemeteries, and dark alleys. Bonaventure Cemetery Tour, Paranormal Investigations Tour, The Creepy Crawl Haunted Pub Crawl, and the Dark History Walking Tour are all popular favorites.

The historic Savannah Theatre offers a hilarious and haunted Ghosted IMPROV Show once a week, all through October 2024. Don’t miss out on these silly, spooky nights of improv, mentalism, live music, and ghost stories.

Wag-O-Ween is one of Savannah’s most beloved Halloween traditions. This annual event sees dogs and their humans don costumes and trick-or-treat through downtown Savannah. Over 100 participating businesses give out treats and present prizes for best costumes. Great fun. Oct 26-27

Savannah is full of historic homes, many of which are said to be haunted. During the month of October, quite a few open their doors for a glimpse into the uncertain. The Sorrel-Weed House, for example, offers both Ghost Tours and Paranormal Investigations.

Those looking for some 21+ fun for their Savannah Halloween will find plenty of options.

Savannah Vampire Bar Crawl (Oct 18) is a night of capes, fangs, live music, dancing, and plenty of spirits from Ghost Coast Distillery. Nightmare on Congress Street (Oct 26, 31) is a bar crawl through the hottest bars in the Historic District. The event also features a costume contest with $2000 in prizes and a variety of keepsakes for participants. A similar tour, Crawl with Us Halloween Bar Crawl (Oct 26), takes the idea to the best bars of River Street, Bay Street, and the City Market.
