Looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit during your Savannah getaway? The Savannah Harbor Holiday Series, Nov 28 to Dec 25, is guaranteed to do just that, with thousands of twinkling lights, nightly bonfires, holiday treats, and special events every weekend!
In the past, the Savannah Harbor Foundation has hosted an annual Festival of Lights around the Hutchinson Island race course. While that part of the festivities have been shelved for 2015, the rest of the annual attractions in and around Hutchinson Island, Savannah Harbor, and the Savannah Riverfront Esplanade are not only still on, they look to be bigger and better than ever!
Savannah’s Harbor Riverfront Esplanade will once again be festooned with lights, decorated trees, and other delightful and festive holiday displays. There will also be nightly attractions and Christmas themed carnival rides. The Winter Escape Ice Bar at North Pool (yes – North POOL, not “pole” – see what they did, there?) will be putting on nightly bonfires to warm your outside, with tasty treats like cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate, and s’mores to warm your insides!
For all the kiddies – large and small – there will be an opportunity to visit Santa’s Workshop, enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, and, of course, the jolly, old elf himself will be on hand each night to turn on the lights!
Every evening of the Savannah Harbor Holiday Series, different organizations will host a special event to celebrate and spread holiday cheer. Live music, dramatic presentations, and other exciting attractions will fill the nights with laughter and good cheer – and proceeds will go towards supporting the hosting organizations cause: Oatland Island Wildlife Center, the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, and Parker’s Fuel the Community, to name just a few of those signed up to host.
The Savannah Harbor Holiday Series kicks off November 28th and continues on until Christmas – don’t miss it!
