Savannah loves to celebrate and the end of the year holidays give us so very many reasons and ways to do so. The whole region comes alive with special holiday events and attractions from just after Halloween through to New Year’s Day, every year. Boat parades, holiday sales, tours, special dinners, tree lightings, and so much more.

December Nights & Holiday Lights at Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens – November 25 – December 24
You won’t believe your eyes when you see Savannah’s lush Botanical Gardens decorated with over a million twinkling lights. This year’s show is a family-oriented, walk through event.
Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside – November 25, 2022 – January 2, 2023
Enjoy browsing through a wide variety of holiday goods along Savannah’s picturesque waterfront. The market offers a wide variety of vendors plus live music, street performers, food specials, and more.
Holiday Tree Lighting – November 25
Savannah’s traditional, downtown tree lighting ceremony with guest celebrities and local bands. Always a good time. 5:30pm
Lighted Christmas Parade – November 26
Don’t miss the annual Lighted Christmas Parade through downtown! Beautifully decorated and lit floats celebrating the season and Savannah’s favorite people and places. 5:30pm
Savannah Boat Parade of Lights – November 26
This festive flotilla features beautifully decorated boats parading up and down both sides of the waterfront. You can even attend from aboard the Georgia Queen Riverboat as it leads the parade! 7-8pm
A Christmas Tradition at the Savannah Theatre – December 1 – 24
Come sing along at Savannah Theatre’s annual “A Christmas Tradition” holiday show. This popular, 2-hour production includes traditional holiday tunes, comedy, candy, and Santa and his dancing reindeer. Good times for all.
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – December 3 – 17
Come join in the fun around Savannah’s Holly Day Tree with dance groups, choirs, improv storytelling, and live bands. Saturdays in December from 3-6 pm
Christmas on the River – December 9 – 11
This three-day festival celebrates the holiday season on Savannah’s Waterfront with live performances, merry melodies and holiday cheer. 5:30pm
