2023 is drawing to a close and we find ourselves looking back over all the fun times and wonderful guests we enjoyed at our Savannah bed and breakfast this year.
Savannah is the perfect vacation destination with so much to offer visitors. We feel so lucky to live here and to be able to share it with our guests. Our location in Savannah’s downtown historic district makes sharing it so easy. Many of the city’s most must-see attractions are within walking or easy driving distance of the Inn.
Iconic attractions like Forsyth Park, River Street, the Savannah Theatre, Georgia State Railroad Museum, Fort Pulaski, Telfair Museums, Savannah Riverboat Cruises, Bonaventure Cemetery, and so much more. Culture, history, outdoor adventure, entertainment, dining, shopping, and so much more.
Beyond our central location downtown, we also offer some of the most highly-rated accommodations in town. Guests of our Savannah bed and breakfast enjoy gourmet breakfasts and afternoon snacks, private baths, an outdoor lounge, pool, and the lush and extravagant appointments one would expect of our lovingly restored, 1888 Italianate Inn.
… but you don’t have to take our word for it. Read the reviews below for the guest’s inn experience.

“We were part of a group of 7 couples and to a person we were amazed at the Inn, their location, and accomodations. What really set them apart were Melissa, Eric, and Josh. They have a gift for hospitality that has gone missing in many hotels since covid.
Eric’s breakfasts were amazing and his genuine desire to care for each guest were best in class. The cookies, all day coffee and other treats went above and beyond BnB expectations.
The decor is Savannah classic and each room was unique.
I know I speak for the group in saying when we return to Savannah we will not even consider looking elsewhere.“

“We have stayed in Savannah a handful of times and this was our best stay yet. We will definitely be coming back to the McMillan Inn! When you think of visiting Savannah you think of southern hospitality, well this place has it! The room was very clean, plenty of towels and a comfortable bed. Also the breakfast was delicious and the afternoon snacks as well.
The location is prime. Walking distance to to Forsyth Park, so many other spots as well as access to the free trolleys to get to river street!“

“What a great experience!!! The establishment was beautiful. The food was delicious. My wife has a food allergy and the owners could not have been more accommodating. There are desserts served 24-7 plus homemade peach tea was always available. The bed was extremely comfortable . The room was perfect. There was a nice little pool that was perfect to get away from the savannah heat. Owners were constantly asking if they could help with anything. They helped us get tickets for the trolley tour. I could not have asked for a more relaxful visit.“

“The McMillan Inn was a wonderful place to stay in Savannah. I nicknamed it the “McMillion Inn” because the building was so gorgeous and the service was so exceptional that we felt like millionaires staying here!
We checked in around 6pm and there were dozens of fresh baked goods and peach tea available for us to snack on after our long car ride. Parking was plentiful, and the staff were eager to help us get around using the free transit options (the DOT bus and the Downtowner, which is a must). They also gave us plenty of recommendations and were otherwise very courteous.
The rooms (see pictures) were incredibly ornate, and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed in the Whitaker Room on the ground floor, and were provided with ample linens and anything else we requested. There were also little candies scattered around the inn that were delicious!
Speaking of delicious, the breakfast was incredible! We had three breakfasts, and some standouts were the strawberry French toast, the hash browns, and the peach cobbler. Yum! Leftovers were also put in the fridge each day, which we took advantage of. We had a large enough breakfast and that we were able to skip lunch and just eat snacks at the inn most days!
Staying at the McMillan Inn is a must. There are really only two cons about this property that I can think of, and both are easy to work around. (1) The Inn is about a 0.5 mile walk to several of the sites you will want to see in the city. However, as mentioned, there are many free transit options, and the inn is much cheaper than those in the center of the city. (2) The inn stairs are steep and sometimes narrow (no elevators), and you will have to carry your bags up stairs to your room. This should be expected given that you are staying in an old home, but those with accessibility limitations should talk to the staff before booking. Given their hospitality, I am sure they would be happy to make arrangements for you!“
